Where The Deer And The Antelope Play: An Unforgettable Journey Through the American West
In his lyrical and evocative memoir, Where The Deer And The Antelope Play, Mark Spragg invites readers on an unforgettable journey through the rugged and awe-inspiring landscapes of the American West.
Spragg's journey begins in the rolling hills of Wyoming, where he encounters a herd of pronghorn antelope grazing peacefully on the open range. As he continues his travels, he witnesses the majesty of the Grand Tetons, the towering peaks of the Rocky Mountains, and the vast open spaces of the Great Plains. Along the way, he meets ranchers, cowboys, and other characters who share their stories and insights about the land and its people.

Spragg is a gifted writer with a deep appreciation for the natural world. His descriptions of the West's iconic landscapes are both vivid and lyrical, capturing the beauty and grandeur of this unique region. He also has a keen eye for detail, and his observations of the wildlife and human inhabitants of the West are both insightful and often humorous.
More than just a travelogue, Where The Deer And The Antelope Play is also a meditation on the meaning of the American West. Spragg explores the region's history, culture, and ecology, and he asks what it means to be a Westerner in the 21st century. He also grapples with the challenges facing the West, including climate change, development, and the loss of open space.
Where The Deer And The Antelope Play is a beautifully written and thought-provoking book that will appeal to a wide range of readers. It is a must-read for anyone who loves the American West, nature writing, or simply a good story well told.
