Mick Herron's Slough House is a gripping spy thriller that follows a group of disgraced MI5 agents as they investigate a deadly conspiracy. It's a fast-paced, action-packed read that will keep you guessing until the very end.

The story centers around Jackson Lamb, a brilliant but irascible agent who has been relegated to Slough House, a dumping ground for MI5's failures. Lamb and his team of misfits are tasked with investigating the death of a young woman who was found dead in a remote location. As they dig deeper, they uncover a web of deceit and corruption that reaches the highest levels of government.

Herron's writing is sharp and witty, and he creates a cast of characters that are both believable and engaging. Lamb is a complex and flawed protagonist, and his team of misfits is just as fascinating. The plot is well-paced, and the tension builds steadily throughout the book. The ending is both satisfying and surprising, and it leaves you wanting more.

If you're a fan of spy thrillers, then you'll definitely want to check out Slough House. It's a gripping read that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.
