Canadians and Americans have a long history of military cooperation. During the War of 1812, Canadian militiamen fought alongside American soldiers against the British. In the American Civil War, thousands of Canadians volunteered to fight for the Union Army. And in both World Wars, Canadian and American forces fought side-by-side against the Axis powers.

This book tells the story of the many Canadians who served in the American military and the Americans who served in the Canadian military. It is a story of courage, friendship, and sacrifice, and it is a reminder of the close relationship between our two countries.
