When I first set out on my自転車journey across Eastern Europe, I was filled with a mix of excitement and trepidation. I had always dreamed of traveling the world on two wheels, but I had never been so far from home before. I didn't know what to expect, and I was a little bit scared. But I was also determined to make the most of this experience, and to embrace whatever came my way.
As I cycled through countries like Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey, I was amazed by the beauty of the landscape, the warmth of the people, and the richness of the culture. I met so many interesting people along the way, and I learned so much about their lives and their perspectives. I also learned a lot about myself. I discovered that I was stronger than I thought I was, and that I was capable of anything I set my mind to.
Cycling solo across Eastern Europe was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. It was a journey that changed me in ways I never expected. I learned so much about the world and about myself, and I made memories that will last a lifetime. If you're looking for a travelogue that will inspire you to embrace the unknown and embark on your own transformative journey, then I highly recommend The Sun In My Eyes: Two Wheeling East.
Here are a few of my favorite quotes from the book:
“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.”
Saint Augustine
“The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”
Nelson Mandela
“The only journey is the one within.”
Rainer Maria Rilke
I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!
